Wisdom in the Quran - Dr Saqib Hussain & Nouman Ali Khan

Throughout my years of studying the Quran, I am grateful to have come across some remarkable individuals who have opened the doors for me to understand the Quran in new ways, and allowed me to take advantage of their incredible work which I then aim to present to all of you through my classes and lectures.

Dr. Saqib Hussain is one such person. I benefited greatly from his pioneering study on the concept of hikmah (wisdom) in the Quran, and used it as a source of inspiration to deliver a new short series for you all which we'll be releasing over these first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah.

I had the pleasure of discussing Dr. Saqib's thesis 'Wisdom in the Quran' with him in Manchester.

It so interesting how one word can carry such deep meaning and pages and pages can be written about. That is the beauty of the Quran. Even when you look at the Tafseer of this word in different context its so amazing. I have downloaded and looking forward it reading the paper, InshaAllah. I have taken comparative religion before and even actually tried learning Hebrew a few years back as it was the closest to Aramaic I could get, it meant that I could learn the bible and Torah in their original format, I am really interested to read this.

Fascinating topic. This is exactly that we as muslim community is missing. Hopefully, there will be more research work will be done. Since in the past there was oral history and people memorized things and forwarded to the future generations. It will be interesting to see if there were overlaps in Christianity, Judaism and islamic traditions. Hopefully, there will be more lectures available.

3:44 Another example how Nabi Luqmaan is also said to be given gikma as in wisdom. So like I think we overlook the word and what Allah means by it because how could it be sunnah for other prophets. This series will be interesting

True Hikmah is happily following Hukm of Allah....like a wise man once said work for the place according to how long u be stayin whoever knows the truth about akhirah, acts on the commands.
Iblis lost the test of hikmah and didnt do sajda. Teaching us through the hikmah of the incident, the sajda was not the worship, the following of the command was.
