I dunno how to feel about Engineers running onto the map to place fortifications and then retreating. I think I prefer the method of bringing engineers into the battle and then having them place fortifications by equipping them from their inventory or using an ability to place things. I do like how the fortifications work though, the communication trenches have got to be my favorite thing considering how many guys i've lost in other games that decided to jump out of trenches that are connected just to get shot when they could have taken a communication trench instead. There is a lot of negativity around this game atm but the only real problem I see with this game was the always online functionality. It's otherwise a pretty decent game.

Engineers, Combat Engis, Medics can be in ANY echelon and you can use them at any point in the game. If you have 10 engi in E1 and 10 in E3, you start the game with 20 Engis that can do stuff.
You can hover over the unit icon diamond for easier placement of infantry inside buildings and vehicles.
Trenches can curve with Alt.
SOME of the smallest crew weaponry (like the little 2man MGuns) can actually deploy inside a trench!
double-click move WILL make your troops jump out of the trench even if there is a safe connector. So click once for inter-trench movement.
Camo netting speeds the time it takes to hide again after shooting. It also makes you invisible to scout planes!

The thing I always wanted in Gates of Hell is better trenches and fortifications. MoW2 got nice trenches

fun tip you don't have to get out of the crate or supply truck you can hit x or hit the eye Butten to transfer stuff from the inventory

what i dislike about men of war, is how easily vehicles and tanks explode, AI almost never takes cover, he just rushes with infantry and dies, the expositions look visually worse than Assault Squad 2 if Im not mistaken..

do you happen to have a video how a squad can loot the boxes / corpses as a whole not a lone soldier, would love to have less micromanagement of having individual soldier to pick up say mg and then give one to another and etc. Time consuming

love those trenches. classic mode is my mode. i didn't like the new mode, seems too arcadey to me.

Man of war 1 there are mods for this. They just copied the code of the mods changed a few things to avoid the infringement laws and put a number 2 behind the game and sell it to us.
