The Salewa Alp Trainers may be more boot than you need. They are the cross between an "approach shoe" and a lite "Alpine boot." I live in COlorado and the boots are fantastic on rock and above timberline. Not so much in the forest or just hiking. Since they have climbing boot DNA they are narrow and fit very close to the foot. I suggest another boot hiking boot like the Zamberlain Vioz or the Lowa Camino - better suited to your local and needs. Good luck.

Happy I found this video! I just got the same boots. People online have been talking about waterproofing not being all that great. Your thoughts?

These feel great on my foot. I was debating between this and the Asolo Fugitive GTX, but I liked the Salewas’ weight and flexibility.

Edit: huh, I just saw your orthotics video and it sounds you didn’t like the Salewa. I’d love to hear your ultimate thoughts.
