Weird niche fact about the butterfly theme: a common coping mechanism used against self harm is to draw butterflies on the area most injured. The idea is that if you harm yourself you kill the butterfly which is to be avoided as much as possible.

Oh how I love your editing. Give me the Purple Era. I think the interesting thing about this next era is that we are in a position where Tyler has a pair of NED horns, as well as the Bishops. Since Tyler can be seized by the Bishops while still being alive and Tyler, from what we know, can only seize empty vessels, it's going to make an interesting dynamic

I think the color will be orange. Orange pre lockdown was very advertised in photoshoots and we know that during that time they were working on this next album whose release way delayed after scaled and icy (it would explain why in 2019 pink and blue weren’t being hinted at bc they weren’t planned). So i think the purple theme is just the mix of pink of blue of this era that’s why we see it alot. Going by the same logic in choker’s mv tyler was wearing the orange hat again. And perhaps the og plan of the trilogy was to have the red with bf the yellow with trench and the mix of both with the final album, while pink and blue remains the anomaly in this schema purposefully bc it’s the propaganda album

I love how everyones theorising about butterflies!
In the LOC ARG in 2020 there was an image of a caterpillar and butterfly that was important for level 12 where we had to find three key words. The 3 keywords were: blurryface, *chrysalis* and indoctrination. Blurryface and indoctrination seeming really relevant to SAI but chrysalis was a bit of a confusing one tbh (I did think it might relate to the vessels but I'm not sold on that idea).

Also atm we're seeing a lot of winter imagery: snow in the outside mv, the most recent tour being the icy tour and the fake snow at concerts. What's after winter? Spring. Coincidentally butterflies start appearing in spring.

Maybe it's just because I recently rewatched the Narnia films but I can't stop thinking about the banditos destroying dema and suddenly the snow and ice thaw and spring arrives, a new beginning with new life.

i’m so happy for the new era and it’s crazy watching this after next semester was confirmed im so excited for clancy. it’s going to be amazing (also im so glad they went with what path they went with the lore)

during the bandito tour the lights would form their logo during the end of trees. They would flash from blue and red, to white and red then yellow. But at every show for the shortest amount of time it would flash purple and red once. This couldn’t have been an accident. No one ever talked about it but you can see happen in any trees video from the bandito tour

I agree that the purple butterfly from the festival is likely not a coincidence. I would love a purple era. It makes a lot of sense thematically and even how they mess around with things on the color wheel.


I’m selfishly hoping for one more video from SAI to serve as the bridge to the new album (maybe No Chances or Redecorate), but then again The Outside provided quite a bit of lore.

I could see some teasers and maybe some online activity to build up towards the new album release, but I would be surprised if it comes out before the end of 2023.

I would love to be wrong, but I don’t think Tyler will take it across the finish line until he is completely satisfied with it. I can’t wait! But I’m willing to be patient because we know that it will be something special.

Them breaking their usual 3-year-release cycle makes sense if Tyler worked on Scaled and Icy and the last album in this storyline in tandem. And a release in 2023 would also explain why they haven't toured Scaled and Icy as globally as usual. Of course they've played some festivals along the Takeover Tour and The Icy Tour. But they didn't tour Europe or Australia/NZ as they would typically

Man, just hearing about all the work they put into their albums makes me love them even more. Hands down, Twenty One Pilots are my favourite musical band (the posters and leagues of merch will confirm that haha). I am so dang excited for the final album in the DEMA storyline, however I do hope it doesn't suggest the final album of Twenty One Pilots. That would make me way too sad haha

The purple butterfly makes a lot of sense! Made me think of during the LoC livestream with all the codes and stuff, one of the keywords was Chrysalis (which turns into a butterfly)

Tyler said in a interview that the next album will be 100% lore related and he want to make sure that everything is explained... SAI era is officially over so idk if it would be a music video, but I hope so

i am SO SO excited. i have been a fan for years and they mean so much to me but i never got the opportunity to see them live. i will not miss out on this next chance because i dont know when they'll be back after this next album!
