The Oldies Station is for the clique, especially the older ones, tyler is telling us to pushing through, the Oldies Station lyric is a reference to either self titled or regional at best and how we haven’t changed the relationship we have with the older songs despite time. Push on through/ stay alive.

This is not the borning song on the album. There is no boring song on the album. Both slowtown and Oldies mean more to me than i can put into words. I feel If you boo at their show during any song, but especially the song dedicated to YOU, you have a lot of self reflecting to do. Thank you Tyler for giving us this it breaks my heart to think you'd regrett it.

I am 54 and feel like I have grown up with this band. I lost my wife 7 years ago and TOP has helped me through some dark times. So thankful my now 20 year old daughter who is getting married this year introduced me. Thank you Tyler and Josh...you could be my sons you are my brothers...you have been great friends. This song sounds like it's about coming to terms with the particular set of struggles you've been given in this life. As we grow, new responsibilities force us to adapt to different habits, and our track record of surviving all those previous bad times, back when we had so much less wisdom and experience under our belts, is a quiet encouragement that we'll "push on through" this time and whatever else happens in our lives.

I really love how this song in the album comes right after Snapback. In Snapback, Tyler talks about how frustrating and upsetting it is when you fall back into harmful habits/mindsets and grieving the loss of all your progress. Then on the very next song of the album, Oldies Station, he reminds himself/us to keep pushing, to start your streak again (even though its going to break later) and that eventually you make peace again and appreciate the small mundane momemts of happiness in life. Even if you keep backsliding, the important thing is to keep pushing forward. So comforting.

Given the mild controversy over Oldies Station in the set list, I figured I would take a chance to share this:

My now 2 year old son was diagnosed with leukemia this past May. The world slammed to a stop for my wife and I as I was unexpectedly let go from a career I went to school for 8 years to get without explanation and my wife had to leave her job to stay in the hospital during chemo treatments.

My other sons and I had to stay at home during these treatments as the hospital is 1.5 hours away.

Our faith was taking hits daily...and we are still living largely on that faith. God is good and while Benny still has over a year of treatments left, he is currently in remission and healthy.

This song kept showing up...kept reminding us on the darkest nights to, "push on through".
I am grateful to the boys for what they do...and hope they know that they are part of something bigger. Between Jesus and encouragement, we have made it through some really hard days and nights.

....push on through is a motto for us now. Thank you.
