Trying to buy an Hermes Birkin bag? This lawsuit can change everything

Today, the average customer can't just walk into a Hermes store and buy a Birkin. Rather, those who have a sufficient "purchase history" and thus "deemed worthy" will be shown a Birkin in a private room by a sales associate. A lawsuit filed this week in California says this practice is illegal.

Doesn't Rolex reserve certain high-demand models for persons who have a purchase record or who are celebrities? How does this differ from what Hermes is accused of? There is a related issue of luxury products including Rolex watches and Hermes handbags being for sale on the grey market--readily available for purchase by anyone with the cash--but at much higher prices than the so-called MSRP which really is not available for everyone.

Ummm no first of all Hermes has been doing this ever sense it created the bag you have to build a purchase history with the brand friend the sales associate that’s how it works then you get the magical phone call to come in for a private viewing of Hermes Birkins that you can purchase

Everyone knows how it works, even those aren’t interested in ever buying a bag. It’s all over luxury YouTube channels. If you’re dumb enough to want attention and validation from a bag, you deserve to be scammed. “Luxury” itself is a scam. Placing your value and deriving your social identity from material items is empty and sad. I sold all my “luxury” items or gave them away because I realised how embarrassingly stupid it is to carry an expensive handbag that probably cost $100 to make, maybe even less.
