Scaling the entire part or scaling all the sketches and features....Did I miss anything?

I never knew it automatically put a list of everything you've done in the parameters page, now I'm so glad I named all my sketches so that I can see which ones to scale!

I am new to fusion 360. How did you search for scale at 1:00? Hot keys are great, unless your giving a tutorial.

i love when people use hotkeys and dont explain the hotkey.. didnt find this helpful

How do you bring up the 'Design Shortcuts' search?

What if what you want to scale is already an STL and you do not have the bodies?

How do you make something that’s 2.997 convert to exactly another measurement if it’s just a body no sketch?

I have a body I need an exact measurement that’s too large. So I can’t just 2x, 3x 4x etc. I want to convert the entire part to a specific dimensional measurement

Hi, sorry. Is it possible to scale from the center of the component?

I jsut need to add an aditional 2mm to the outside (shell) and im going to basically remove thecenter of the project. basically what im creating is a sleeve to go over a box.. but i made the dimensions the size of the box + a few mm to allow it to fit around. How do i just add a couple mm to the top and sides but not the bottom all at once? I dont want to change any other measurments of the sleeve because there are specific cutouts that need to stay n positon.

thanks,

I am currently trying to figure out how to make multiple sized cookie cutters using 1 design model in fusion without doing everything from scratch. However, whenever I scale the entire body, the height becomes off. I tick "uniform" when I scale, but the heights would differ every measure. my cutters need to have a fix height regardless of how big the entire body should be (2", 3" 4" etc), so how would I fix this?

Great tip. You could save a lot of future typing by defining a new parameter for the scale factor and then multiplying by that parameter. Then if you want to change the scale again, you only have to change the one parameter.

What if I import stl file of the human head figure and want to resize it to human size? Only I know of dimensions is distance between eyes 65mm.

Is it possible to scale it in a simpler way than guessing and undoing it hundreds of times with a scaling tool?

Hi Tyler, do you do commission work?
Im looking to make an Aliens pulse rifle with Nerf internals.
I have stls. They just need modding.
Thanks for your time

I often use a multiplikation factor parameter in all scalable values, this way I can control what dimensions should scale and which should not. Since we sometimes don’t want certain parts to scale.

Changing the scale value is easy in that case, instead of having to go through all the values.

You'd think you'd be able to scale the model right in the CAM section to suit your stock size or make a scale model test cut.
