I have a W211 E320 CDI estate, which is the earlier generation and I’m confident that these seats are the same and they fold forward and are also removable, so the back is completely flat.

Reviewers never speak of the pets people often buy these cars in netting in the load space does not help at all and no estate car nor MPV has an integrated pull out ramp for older dogs
