I'm end stage COPD, and it's been a long hard and frightening road. I lost my father in April, 2021 to COPD. Now, here I am, Son like Father. I can say that I really hope that anyone who has this Nightmare of a Disability, to do your best to stay strong and keep focused on doing everything possible to get better. Blessings to all of you.

It's been 3yrs since I quit smoking and I am getting progressively worst. I pray that I can get some kind of surgery to open up my airwaves. I am only 59, and want to live..God bless anyone with this terrible disease..

I have COPD. I never smoked. But everyone in my family smoked, In the winter I was closed in the house with them. I am the one who is suffering because of their bad decisions. I now live in a smoke free house. PLEASE don't smoke around your children.

On August 2, 2022 I had an exacerbation of COPD (I have stage 4) and my daughter called an ambulance. I ended up in the ER for 6 hours before they transferred me to the ICU. I asked the doctor if I was going to live and he said that if I made it through the night, there was a slim chance. That's all I needed to keep on fighting. I was able to go home three days later and have not had another occurrence that drastic, thank goodness. However, I am home bound and on oxygen 24/7 but at least I'm still here!!

For whatever it's worth, I think this guy is just great on camera. Charming. Good looking. Eloquent in a simple and easy way. The whole deal. Probably more serious issues here. But it's always nice to see somebody on video who's easy to watch.

I am non-smoker with severe COPD at 42. Had to leave job. Listening to Audiobooks (especially on YouTube) helps me to maintain my good mood because I am not able to have physically active lifestyle due to frequent exacerbations. Breathing is not valued till it is laboured.

No one can truly understand how it feels to have severe COPD. This time last year after a lung function test, I was given two years to live. I was so depressed and just kind of gave up! Until it occurred to me that I could fight… So I did!!! I read all I could on diet, exercise, stress etc. Focus on what you can do as I can honestly say that my breathing has improved so much that I’m actually in better shape than I was at that awful consultation. Please fight on people as you’ve nothing to lose and so much to gain…. God bless and good luck to all you COPD patients cos it ain’t over til the fat lady sings! 🙏❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

I was recently hospitalized and had a pulmonary function test. The results came back that I have severe COPD too. I'm currently in pulmonary rehab and I feel it's a step in the right direction in my treatment plan. Good luck. It's hard but we'll make it!

I know what he's saying. I was a very active nurse. Now, I don't do a lot physically other than walk through my house. I'm not unhappy because I've turned my efforts to my writing and I really enjoy that. Reading and writing, my family are all ways that I fill my life. Most importantly I have my faith in Christ to fill all gaps.

I quit smoking and I feel great, I think I quit in time to avoid COPD. My Father died a few months ago from COPD. Sad to see my Dad struggle for air. I'm actually glad he died and is not suffering anymore. Smoking is terrible.

I don’t think society is taking this illness as seriously as it should be. My dad smoked most his life he now had COPD. Prompted me to research it and o my LORD, it’s almost as bad as cancer. It’s horrific. People need more education on this illness

I have stage IV and it's a struggle doing anything physical, I'm in my late 60s. Fortunately I can still work and I cherish it (CDC epidemiologist) and I'm allowed to telework full time because of my health. Without it, life would be a much greater struggle. Hang in there!
