DPM Heng urges firms to strengthen corporate governance amid economic uncertainty

At the Singapore Corporate Awards on July 23, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat urged companies not to be pessimistic in the face of economic uncertainty and technological change. He also urged firms to strengthen their corporate governance and have good leadership that gives workers relevant skills to adapt to change. An award for risk management was given out for the first time this year, and winners included DBS Group, UOB OCBC, China Aviation Oil, and metals company Miyoshi.
