Well all the best for those who are sitting for AS level May/June. Kinda regretted that i didn't study a lot last year. (My exams coming soon in few days) Anyway, we need to study harder now to get grades that we want. Final words for all of you, your sacrifices now will be paid off with your results

My question is, would they take the strikes into mind? We have lost quite a lot of lessons due to them.

I am sitting my A levels this year. I just hope. I get a good grade to get into university. All of a sudden, this makes me a lot nervous now. I worried about my maths, physics and geography exams. All the Best everyone!! You can do it

The head of Ofqual released a statement in September. In it she said that grade boundaries would be set at 2017 levels (the first year of new A-Level), so they will still be slightly lower than 2019.

I don't understand why you highlighted the first part of that paragraph, but ignored the part where it says "Because of the disruption caused by the pandemic, examiners will be slightly lenient when setting grade boundaries for GCSE, AS and A level." I get that you want to encourage students to try and get the highest mark possible, but I don't think fear-mongering is the way to do it.

I have AS levels this year, and I'm extremely prepared for this scenario. I've set standards independent from the paper to ensure that I'm in a safe A. Normally I add about 5-7 marks on the highest grade boundary issued.

Thanks for this, just more reason to work harder.

Could you do some tips on exam technique? Myself included, I know a quite a few people who know the content rly well, but drop marks for stupid things like misreading the calculator, POT errors or my personal least favourite, writing down the correct workings for MC questions, then dropping the mark for accidentally writing the completely wrong letter! I'm highlighting key words and redoing questions if I have time at the end of the exam, but no matter what I do, it's so so hard to shake off these habits - especially doing mocks in exam conditions where you feel rushed and under pressure and I don't know what to do :(

Are Uni entry grades remaining inflated after the pandemic? And if so does that not make getting into university this year far more difficult?

But I thought we were going to be given the same protection with the grade boundaries as 2017 when the 9-1 grades were first introduced

Isn't it based on percentages though? Like, 85% is an A*? I presume I'm wrong, but if, let's say 12% of students got >85%, would only 8% of them get an A*?

But shouldn't it be the same percent getting a certain grade freshold every year.

Wait so the grade boundaries won't be slightly higher than last year they will just go back to what they were b for covid.

Great video but I think you missed the fact that last years grade boundaries weee very similar to 2019, for maths it was 164/300 for an A and 2019 was 165/300, the main differentiator was the advanced information, of course the CAG part is completely valid.

I sat my alevels in 2019. I felt cheated when 2020 coronavirus grades just inflated.
