In this video I’ll be talking about the different types of car shampoos in the detailing industry, which to use when, and my favourites in each category.

Another great and informative video that you have uploaded Heather lots of good info here, my favourite car wash shampoo is Bilt Hamber Auto Wash, it’s a very concentrated product and little goes a long way but it’s a great cleaning product and what i really like about Bilt Hamber products is that there are corrosion inhibiting properties in there products, Car Pro descale is a good product to use for really dirty vehicles with heavy contamination and baked on dirt, it is impressive but not to be used for cleaning every week, another product that i really like is Koch Chemie GSF, (Gentle Snow Foam) it can be used both as a snow foam in a contactless wash and used in a bucket for a contact wash, sometimes use both spray it on with a foam cannon to act like a lubricant and then use a bucket and wash mitt for the contact clean, great product.

Another fabulous detailed Vlog Heather. I only use two shampoos, the GT Decon once every six months, and my beloved BH Auto Wash that I'd never ever sway from 😊

Nailed it again Heather. It's a real horses for courses thing as you say in relation to the ceramic infused shampoos. Maybe not for a really enthusiastic detailer but a real boon for people who are time poor or even a bit old like me!

That was so useful to myself who reckons he knows a thing or two about detailing i.e. don't use a sponge to wash or a chamois or water blade to dry a car. I have a bottle of Restart that I was saving for someones car that was coated as I sold my coated car a week after my order arrived from Gyeon. I think I might use it as an extra step on a full decon prior to the full iron removal step to hopefully weaken the bonding of the particles. Another step some people swear by is only to use ceramic shampoo after the initial shampoo stage using it as a protection product rather than a cleaning product. Thanks again for the usual nugget I glean from your content.

Great advice Heather, I agree on ceramic type washes they never feel as slick so I do pure wash plus separate protection👍

Excellent as always, Heather.
I use gyeon restart once a month just to keep on top of all the iron deposits makes doing a full decon around every 5-6 months so much easier.
I have also recently purchased a shampoo from labocosmetica, It's called Purifica and It's very similar to garage therapys new DMS shampoo it was recommended to me by clean and shiney very good at removing limescale and mineral deposits which can clog up a coating.

Question: how do you really know if the high ph soaps really cleaned the paint? Is it just a visual thing?
Ive found that Carpro Descale does a good job on coated cars, but sometimes I've had to follow up with a spot remover to remove chemicals to unclog a coating.
Yes, i agree. Cleaning and protecting is a 2-step process. Yes, it takes a bit more time, but it's way worth it! Vehicles are extremely expensive, so why not spend the time protecting it. Thx Heather

Oh dear. Now I've discovered I need more products and I thought I already had everything covered. Life was so much simpler back in the day, with one bucket, fairy liquid, a sponge and a chammy. Ok, the car paint ended up looking like it had been dragged through a hedge, but life was indeed simpler 🤣

Lots, lots of car shampoos, acidic, alkaline, ph neutral, ph balanced(ph 8, 8.5). At least many done as a system to minimize panel contact and still some must be performed but everytime more safely

Restart wash was a fantastic idea for maintenance washes, too bad I ended up never using it cause I don't wanna dunk my hand in a iron remover scented soap 🤣 That thing stinks badly.
