Libraries are amazing aren't they? And I'm a couple weeks late to library appreciation week...whoops but better late than never!

--Questions--
1. How often do you visit you local library?
2. Are you the type of person who checks out more books than you know you can read or are you someone who only checks out the exact amount of books you intend on reading before they are due?
3. How old were you when you got your first library card?
4.Do you go to your library looking for a particular book or do you check out anything that peaks your interest?
5.Do you use your library to check out just books or do you also check out dvds, audiobooks etc.?
6.From what section of your library do you check out a majority of your books? ( YA, middle grade, adult, nonfiction.)
7.What is your favorite part of using your local library?

I love the library. I've had a card since I can remember. I even worked at my home town library in High School. My new library is lovely. They set up a "photo booth" in one of their conference rooms so that families can come in and take nice holiday pictures. They do all kinds of activities and giveaways. I always advocate for people to use their library resources. My cousin's library has a freaking cafe!!

The thing I love most about libraries in general is the ability to try a random book that I have never even heard of for FREE. I love being able to access physical books, ebooks and audiobooks; I am in Northern VA and we have a fantastic library system but kudos to the way they pivoted during the pandemic to make more books than ever accessible online but also found a way to still get physical books out the door also. I know it wasn't a great work situation for the librarians during the past few years so in my opinion they are unsung heroes.

I’ve always loved libraries, but since becoming a Mom it has become even more valuable. Their story times were such a huge part of our routine in the baby/toddler years!

As a retired librarian, I loved this video. Thanks for supporting libraries.

I love my library as well. We have a big book shelf just as you walk into the library where we can exchange books. Lots of activities for the kids and adults. We also have movie night. They just put a play ground for the kids and picnic tables outside for activities

A great take on our beloved libraries. My kids got their own library cards around the age of 5. We would visit the library once a week and they would choose and check out their own books. Some of the best memories of their childhood (now college kids) were looking for books in our library. Thank u to our librarians and library clerks. Teaching our kids to read. God love u all

As a kid, I always did the summer reading program at my library. I wish they did that for adults! I just love that the library is for everyone. It doesn’t matter if you’re old or young, rich or poor. They are a wonderful resource for the entire community.

We love the library and are once a weekend. Both my 6 year old and 3 year old have a library card and love handing their cars to the librarian to check out their books.

I didn't start going to my library until I had kids.... and once I was there, I was like OMG.. why did I not use this before. I love getting graphic novels there, and I have even checked out some movies which is nice. I think when you don't have kids, its easy to forget how awesome libraries are.

I love our library, so much so I joined the next county and pay for it as an out of county member. They just have a much larger selection than ours. But I love using hoopla, libby, going in to any of the local libraries browsing, picking up the free crafts. I have been using libraries for 52 years and remember when the book mobiles used to come around the neighborhoods. Happy reading 🥰📖

I live in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, so here is not common to have local libraries, but at every public school has a library where only students can borrow all kinds of books, and I was a kid I used to go there every single day. Actually, I started to love reading because of this. It was really easy going to the library, choose one book and leave it home. I have great memories of my school library, especially in high school. 💕💕

I love my library! It lets me try a bunch of books without having to spend the money to commit to them if I’m unsure if I’ll like it. It also helps me not feel guilty for DNFing because it was “free”.

My mom and I just recently started to visit our local library again. It’s our Saturday mom and daughter day.

Great Video about using our Libraries

I use two different Libraries - I use my local Library and I use my County Library.

My favorite one is my County Library - My High School English Teacher works at my County Library. My County Library is only 15 minutes away from me. They have everything - Magazines - Kids Magazines - Adult Magazines - Adult Books - Children’s Books - Audio Books - E Books - DVD - Movies - CD Music - Graphic Novels. The Staff is super fantastic. They have the Self Check Out System - they have the Computerized Automatic Return Slot where you can print out a receipt from the Computer for your Return Books. My County Library is so neat. Before Pandemic hit I would go my County Library - sit in my favorite place - right by a Window - sit and read for hours. I hope that they will bring this back this summer. I miss doing this. They also have their Website too which I dearly love.

The last time I put Books on Hold I had like 7 books on Hold through my County Library and that was way too many. I can’t read that many at one time.

I am a Library Freak - I love Libraries. They fascinate me - I could just go to the Library - stay there the entire day and night and just read.

I do love reading - looking at Magazines too so I will check out Magazines.

I am allowed to check out physical books up to 100 at one time. I am allowed to keep them for three weeks unless somebody else wants the book.

When I put Books on Hold through my County Library it takes less than 2 days for the Book to come in.

I will listen to Audio Books and I do read Library E Books every so often.

Take Care & Happy Reading

My local library holds many events and one recently they did was "Disconnecting at the Library" they had puzzles, board games, etc and you could just show up to take a break from any and all electronics. You didn't even have to do anything you could just show up and sit down and "participate" that way

I live in VA so I have library cards in VA and MD. I mostly check out ebooks and audio books from the MD library so I don't have to worry about going and dropping off physical books. I did go to my MD library yesterday and they had a book sale where I could fill a bag for $1. Since I own so many physical books I only check out one or two at a time. I go in looking for books that are on my wish list. I used to go more often when my daughter was younger, but now she is just as obsessed as I am with buying books. When I was young we had a bookmobile where they stopped in various towns throughout the week. I would go to the bookmobile twice a month and to the actual library about three or four times a month.

I was just at my library yesterday morning and this morning. My baby is 3 months old, so we've been going to the morning storytimes together on Friday mornings, then we go again Saturday mornings and my 3 older kids come and they can pick out books, movies and video games!

I love this tag so much! I am actually just about to graduate with my library degree (MLIS)! Graduation is 4 weeks away, and I love to see people celebrating libraries and all that they can do for families and the community!
