It can venture off-road, provide performance thrills or be low-key in quiet EV mode — how would you drive your new Range Rover Sport?

I've been looking at the 2020-2022 Range Rover sports. The prices of those dropped real fast after they announced the new model.

Worst mistake LR made was to swap the jag’s 5 liter V8 with this bimmer engine.

A lot of squeaking from the brakes ! Not acceptable for 100 grand!

Nice to start the segment with some off-road driving, however it would have been nice to see more of the terrain you were on as you were on it, than watching you talk to us from the cabin. Appreciate the video though. Nice piece.

I have had two, Range Rover, HSE LUX Sport, W/5.0L Supercharged, (8700lbs.) and my first one, a 2013 short wheel base was fast, silent, and could go anywhere. Problem??? Yes, Range Rover refused to touch it, and not one car mechanic, in Lawton, Oklahoma, would even change my oil!!! (It had been modified!!!) So, I sold it, and purchased a 2014. (The emmision control system on the 2013, was removed, wich gave me 34mpg, hiway, and 24mpg city, and a faster start of the line). The second one, was a 2014, LWB and was mint, and loaded!!! (I went and saw the 2022, and they were too high on the price). Also, there are no 2016-2017's around, so I found 1 (one), in Memphis Tennessee, and purchased it. It was totalled after a minor accident, because the HSE system was injured, and the base repair cost, might be as high as $35, 000. A set of tires, and wheels, 2 (two), and a rear quarter panel, and the suspension repair, and that was all it needed.(When the adjuster looked at the photo of the damage, he said, 2 weeks, and I would pay $495.00 So, I had good insurance and saw another one for sale, at Bob Moore, Range Rover, in Oklahoma City. They were asking $42, 900, (the 2023s start @$104, 000) which gives the reader an idea of how fast they depreciate. I had financing here in Lawton, and I had the sale finished, and a driver was on his way, to fetch the, Range Rover, and deliver it to my house. Bob Moore, Range Rover, Oklahoma city refused to release it because I had a "dealer" pick it up!!! They said that they refused to sell me a car, because they thought I was a dealer also!!! I can use, "Bob Moore, " anyway I please, because my father, great uncle, and brother, were all named Bob Moore, The Bob Moore, died two years ago. I looked at a 2016, loaded Mercedes and it was $27, 950, A huge difference. And "Edmonds, " has the one I want to buy. I am done with Range Rover, forever!!! There is a Mercedes dealer, right in Lawton, and any mechanic will work on it and service it. That is my biggest complaint about Range Rover. The only place to service it was 210 miles away, and to change the 2 front headlamps was going to cost over $850.00, that's right, $850, for a headlight change!!! They have to remove the grill and bumper to install them!!! The bulbs alone at, "Advanced Auto Parts" were, $310.00!!! And no one in Lawton would touch the bulbs... The Range Rover, will go almost anywhere, and except for steering, it can be set to drive itself in any terrain. It's top speed is 174mph, and it was getting 14mpg, when gas was >$5.00 a gallon!!! I love driving them and hate dealing with the Range Rover, franchises. So, as nice as they seem, they are disappointing when it comes to service. Brother James Kendall Moore OSB OFS OSC.

If u want the full power of the 4.4 get the bmw. As they supply the motor. Though this in v8 form is a looker. My choice would be benz, bmw, then this

This is a great car, but this is not how PHEV is supposed to be implemented: with this large battery, Land Rover must use only electric motors for the traction, leaving the gas engine exclusively as a range extender, working under optimum efficiency and durability parameters. There is no logic whatsoever to do PHEV in any other way.

Why would I impressed with a staged off-road test?

If you are buying this for dirt roads and TJ Max runs in the winter, it is great.

If you plan on off-roading...don't buy this car. Period.

It’s fascinating that we used to all want these cars, now with climate change on our doorstep they have become an embarrassment to own and a symbol of ignorance, times change quickly

Please don't compare a Range Rover to a Mercedes-Benz GLE or the BMW X5... This model cannot come close. It's. Range Rover, and unreliability is inbuilt.
