Strange World is a 2022 American computer-animated science-fiction action-adventure film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. The 61st animated film produced by the studio, it was directed by Don Hall, written and co-directed by Qui Nguyen, and produced by Roy Conli. The film stars the voices of Jake Gyllenhaal, Dennis Quaid, Jaboukie Young-White, Gabrielle Union, and Lucy Liu, and follows the Clades, a legendary family of explorers who must set aside their differences as they embark on a journey to a mysterious planet named Avalonia, inhabited by surreal lifeforms.

Strange World takes inspiration from pulp magazines—popular fiction from the first half of the 20th century; the film also pays homage to retro science-fiction flicks such as Journey to the Center of the Earth and King Kong. In addition, the land of Avalonia was given an orange-and-white color palette to contrast with the titular strange world, as the filmmakers chose red and magenta. To communicate non-verbally, several animators worked to create the movement of the character Splat. Henry Jackman composed the film's musical score.

Abraham Benrubi as Lonnie Redshirt, a large member of the expedition to Strange World. His last name refers to the trend in Star Trek for those wearing red shirts to die insignificantly.

I actually love the idea that their world is on the back of a giant turtle, it's my favorite Native American myth.

This movie is just so amazingly designed and so beautifully animated, I really loved it. I'm also heavily nerding out about all the cool biology, I love that the world turns out to be one organism. It shows so clearly that everything is connected and you can never tell what outcome your actions will have on your environment.

The turtle definitely goes back to ancient creation story

I was pointing out the body parts this whole movie! Wow that looks like interior of bones. Those look like cells. Those trees looks like its breathing, they even branch out like lungs. Instead of being surprised about the turtle I was like that makes since and I was able to point out other body parts.

Why does everyone think that the movie turning red is about a girl getting her cycle? Just because her mother mentions it in the movie. The girl said yes to cover up the fact that she had the curse. It's a curse on the family. How could the family make their cycles go away? And no one else in the whole movie is a red panda but theirs.The movie is about emotions and trying to deal with them. The mom is so big because she lets her emotions get the best of her. Do your research.

I would like a sequel where explorers venturing outside Avalonia, find three possible alternative electric sources in the ocean surrounding the creature, but they don't know which is the safest and most efficient. The only being who could possibly know which of the three sources is the most reliable is the creature they live on. Ethan and Diazo will travel to the creature's brain and certain parts of it and find out what it knows about which is safest to use.

Next they manage to go into space and see water planet with giant turtle, amazing discovery right? Well Next they decide to visit other planets in their solar system only to discover dead planets and skeletons of similar turtles floating in space

When they revealed they were living on a turtle I was reminded of the cult classic wii game xenoblade chronicles and it’s sequel xenoblade chronicles 2 which have people living on larger creatures called titans
