What is dark matter?
Join British Physicist Brian Cox and The Royal Institution of Australia for bringing one of the most mysterious topics Dark Matter Dark Energy.
As the host Australian astronomer Alan Duffy asks him a question on ‘what is dark matter?’ In reply to that Brian Cox answers that Dark Matter is a sort of matter that doesn’t interact with light, doesn’t glow, and doesn't clump together like Big Blobs. So the best model for that is that it’s some kind of particle or subatomic particle out there. Dark Matter outnumbers the subatomic particles out of which we and the earth and all the stars and galaxies and the stuff that shines in the universe is made of or we could say it as a different kind of thing which outnumbers the stuff we are made of or stars are made of.’
Moreover he adds that there are lots of gravity that we would find about the same amount where we can also look at the galaxies orbiting around each other and we need more stuff there to really understand what is a Dark Matter or what is a Dark Energy. Moreover we can see the expansion rate of the universe which tells us that some kind of varied matter particle exists that helps the universe or galaxy for expansion of the universe.’
At the end he concludes that most physicists think that it’s likely to be some kind of particle. But actually to our surprise, we haven’t found any such particles at places like the Large Hadron Collider at the particle accelerator in Geneva, Switzerland.

This puts the old timeless adage and question "What's the matter?" To a whole new level!

That was a very sophisticated way of saying "we have no f***ing idea what it is."

It’s fascinating that there’s some type of matter out there that we don’t understand.

I think it makes more sense to consider our observance of dark matter as a visible field effect, possibly from somwthing in an unobservable, fifth dimension. It would explain many of the mysterious properties of dark matter without breaking other, existing models we've already accepted and proven.

"It is some kind of matter".
The answer should have full stopped there! The best answer :)
