Let a=x+100. After some manipulations, we have to solve for a the equation 13a^5+8a^3-240a=0. So, a(13a^4+8a^2-240)=0, a=0 and a=+or-2. a=0 gives x=-100 (rejected because denominator=0) and x=-98, x=-102.

Let t=x+100. The equation is 256/61. We see, using L'Hopital, that t=0 is not a solution. Then, the equation reduces to 13t^4+8t^2-240=0. t^2 is positive. So, t^2=4 > t=+/-2 > x = -98, -102.
