Didymoteicho, an fpv tour of my hometown

The town is located in Thrace in Greece and has about 8,000 years of continuous habitation. Its name means "the city of twin walls". This is probably due to its two hills with two fortifications, the first one was built by the Roman emperor Trajan in 204 AD and was named Plotinopolis in favor of Trajan's wife Pompeia Plotina and the second one, on the hill directly opposite to the first, by the Roman emperor Justinian about 350 years later and after that, it was named Didymoteicho around 590 AD. The town was the favourite place of the Roman emperors and later Ottoman sultans for hunting because of the many rivers and the vast forests of the area and the rich flora and fauna. It was also the first capital of the Ottomans before Adrianopolis and later the fall of Constantinople. Several Roman emperors and Ottoman sultans were born or lived in this castle.
