Chef Wally:
Here's a process showing how I reveal the pattern in this blade I forged from thousands of layers of alloys fused together to create this pattern, in which the acid exposes the intricate damascus steel structure I forged with a 4.5 billion year old meteorite iron integrated into the blade. The meteorite iron I used is Muonionalusta meteorite iron that is found near the small village of Kitkiöjärvi, Sweden, which was discovered in 1906. It has survived nearly 4 ice ages, and is dated to be one of the oldest meteorites ever recorded. Older than the Earth itself, it comes from a planetoid that was once apart of the parent body of our solar system. Meteorite iron, naturally, is a very brittle and fragile iron. The reason being is partly due to its high impurities content, with little to no carbon or manganese... To combat that, I essentially needed to find a way to forge this blade with meteorite, whilst still maintaining a strong, durable and sharp integrity of the blade. To do this, I used high-carbon steel 15n20/ 1084, which I forged and crafted the layers of the damascus steel (or pattern-welded steel) into a mosaic pattern that would look very organic, whilst still preserving the natural Widmanstatten structure of the meteorite post-forging process. This structure is the crystal formation of the meteorite iron molecularly separating the iron from the nickel, formed from cooling over millions of years in the vacuum of space. This pattern cannot be replicated by any technological process in our lifetime in iron, and my main goal was to preserve this to be as natural as possible. The blade was forged as a set with a smaller paring knife, and a custom stand that holds the two. I plated the edge in 24k gold which will add some rust resistance as the blade is used over time.

Thank you everyone for the continued support! I've been almost completely sold out this past year, if you keep an eye out on my mailing list, I'm working on a more affordable limited edition drop of meteorite iron chef knives that I'll be releasing very soon.

Your knife styles are some of the most unique, beautiful styles ever. So happy to be alive in a time when so many incredible blades are being made.

Guys its a kitchen knife not a borong. Its tang is fine for what it is. Early bronze swords didnt have tangs either. This is for food not combat lol.

Handle kinda looks like a regular black handle steak knife left a little to close to a fire

I’m no expert, but I know enough to know that I personally, especially as a chef, would prefer full tang. I don’t plan on trying to cut anything hard enough to break a knife like that however accidents happen and I like the look of full tang better.

The amount of people saying "who cares if it isn't full tang" is astonishing... people who know anything about knives cares. Sure this could be an aesthetic choice or the lack of material. It is made out of meteorite after all but dudes and duddetts that have never worked in a kitchen... things break especially the most frequently used tool i.e the knife
