It's great to find a mineral or gas hotspot, but what if you can't reach an EMG hotspot? We've all been there. With the simple technique of extending your building limits, along with some creative base computer placement, you'll never have to wish you could power your base with an EMG again.

No Man's Sky is an exploration survival game developed and published by Hello Games. ... Through the game's procedural generation system, planets have their own ecosystems with unique forms of flora and fauna, and various sentient alien species may engage the player in combat or trade within planetary systems.

Small heads up about base limit stretching, you'll have to do it all in one sitting. Once you log out, your base limit will be reverted back to normal and you won't be able to stretch it again.

I've done this for some mega farms i've built to have 3 mining spots, a gas spot, and EMG. You gotta plan all this out and do it in one sitting or you'll lose your chance to do it. So be prepared to be building for potential a few hours, to get everything outside your limits, built.

I knew the trick to expanding the base but I didn't know about the listening for the scanner tone changing. Thanks! Subbed!

If you ever get on the new capital of the Galactic Hub Eissentam in Survival I built a community base with either 5 or 6 hotspots. It has landing pads, refiners, a galactic trade terminal, and carbon planters, and also at least one biodome of every plantable in the game.

I found a really cool floating rock on an amazon-like planet, started building my base there before checking for hot-spots. Turns out there was a EMG, gas and mining hotspots all withing 4-500u

Thanks. I had no idea there was a audible signal. You rock!

This is great. I have found that half arches make great electricity pylons. You can stack them up in hilly terrain so the wire is level. Then you can us them to extend your build area towards the EMG generators. It's nice to see that you have quantified it for us. Thanks.

Great video! I will add a couple of notes that might help others - when you are placing the EMG, and you are looking for the spot with the strongest emanation of power, the measurement of distance is literally under your feet (not where you are pointing). So, if you are moving about, and you finally get the sweet spot, it is directly under you at that moment, and you can back off a few steps and drop the generator. Stacking more directly on top is a good idea too. 🙂

The other thing is - if the base extension isn't working out, you don't HAVE to put the EMG directly over the hotspot. You can place it relatively close and still generate power - albeit, much less, but I have seen it work fairly well if you have enough resources to build several.

I just found a dope paradise moon! Has a huge planet to the left of it and in a short distance of space it has a Saturn looking planet with the rings, looks really cool. Just started setting up a small base there with some great views! The moon seems to have really long days and short nights, no bad weather, amazing sunsets! The best thing about it, it has these little guys walking around that look just like Ewoks from Star Wars, so I called the planet Ewok Paradise Planet (Keggysmall). Loving this game again! Keep up the awesome content!

Knew I could extend and bring the wire, did not know you could use it for non electromagnetic hotspots.. thought they had to be in your base for the refiners so Awesome!

The scanner info is golden and will make searching so much easier, thank you 👍

Easy to understand and exactly what I was looking for

For solar farms, you can just build a cylindrical room and fill it to the top with solar panels and batteries. Put it on the outskirts of your base so you can load into your base with no glitchy, loud solar panel noises
Run power from cylindrical room to a battery closer to your base for a nice power junction

Another way to extend out is to daisy chain Batteries! I also take the SHORTEST ROUTE. This means tunneing THROUGH terrain to keep the distances short. On Hostile planets it also keeps you protected from weather and Sentinels! Each time you connect a new battery you can build from that spot up to 1000u. BUT the wire MUST BE LIVE so use some tempory power like the reactor so the line is always charged!

I usually build a power plant with glass cubes, Solar panels and batteries. Then you can build anywhere.

awesome!! cant wait to try this out, thanks! was driving me nuts how i couldnt have resource hotspots near a power hotspot...got tired of blowing through resourced making a ton of generators and batteries. appreciate the content! ✌️😎

This game has had so many updates over so much time that a lot of the information becomes outdated very quickly. As a recently returned player it is in my interest to filter any guides to avoid wasting my time with outdated information, I would be a fool to be assuming everything is the same over 3 or 5 years.
Thank you for creating these videos, it's those that lack experience that need them the most.

I'll have to remember this for when the game comes out for Nintendo switch... It's taking so long! I wanna play already!

My main save alone has 400 hours. And I am always watching nms content on YT.

HOW DID I NOT KNOW THIS?

Great video, useful info. And teaching me something I didn't know in this game. You earned the sub!

An extra trick when finding the direction of a hotspot that’s out of range - the ‘nope’ noises are in stereo, in the ear for the direction you need to turn. If it nopes in your right ear, turn to the right.
