I goto harbor freight more than my husband. I'm a maker so i do tons of different "crafts" and get stuff for my woodworking, scuplting, sewing, etc... from there for lots cheaper than the specialized tools that art sold for these crafts. I also love the spongy garage floor mats the sell for $9 they help foot pain and back pain when your standing there for a long time cutting your fabric pieces for quilts.

Yes and they have 25%/30% coupons regularly. They have very low-cost 100% cotton canvas drop cloths that can be used for quilting/craft projects. I also purchased 8 very light-weight saw horses for about $6 each on special - I set them up, top with construction foam boards, use the hand clamps to secure quilt sandwiches, and spray-baste. All of it is easy to set up and take down and easily stored in garage. Another tip - buy large 100% wool ironing mats at a tack store (they’re used for saddle pads) - about $20 vs $100+. Thanks for the pleasant, informative videos!

Good video and as a reminder that sometimes the stores capitalize on a hobby when all along one can find doable products, better quality substitutes. My greatest and aha moment came when I saw someone promote Husky tables as a sewing table. I spent fortunes buying tables made of MDF board, wobbles when sewing etc. all low quality. I purchased for a couple hundred dollars a Husky worktable, adjustable heights, 2 drawers, on wheels. Love it. There are many different sizes as well. Another great purchase was 4 unfinished kitchen cabinets (with drawers) and then an inexpensive counter top placed on top for my cutting table and plenty of storage. Sturdy! Better quality and less expensive. Love what you shared. I will make a trip this week as I love finding good substitutes. Great job!

As a woman, I LOVE Harbor Freight! I've had two of the smaller magnetic bowls for years, but this red one just made me realize I could paint one the next time I have a spray paint project. I have a rolling tote that holds my machine. Bought a tool bag for my sewing machine tools along with some specialty tools such as the tiny cleaning brushes. I bought a 3 foot extension cord to mount inside my sewing cabinet so that my vintage machine has an on/off switch. Another is for my irons and the indicator light helps me to turn off my irons. The green frog tape is like old fashioned drafting tape and it will remove from most papers, including pattern tissue. They also have a nice assortment of steel rulers that the rotary Cutters can't damage.

I caught your video this morning before I left for my oncologist visit. Simply brilliant.

I stopped by a Harbor Freight store on my way home (never been inside one before) and purchased a large super grip, a mini suction cup, a telescoping magnet, and a magnetic parts holder. I am undergoing chemo now and have developed neuropathy in both my fingers and toes. I was able to purchase the grips for a fraction of the cost from the quilt shops.

I will be able to continue my quilting with ease. Thank you so much.

Hello Michelle, I got excited the first time I went into a Harbor Freight shop many years ago. I was looking for something for my 55 Oldsmobile, instead I bought stuff for around the house, in my sewing kits and storage stuff. Their prices went to my head, I didn't have to walk all over Home Depot. I got an Oscilating multi functional tool, as seen on TV, My husband wouldn't get one, so I bought him one and he never used it. He gave it to a neighbor, so I got one, and used it. He thought it was great and couldn't keep his hands off it. But when I told him if he was going to borrow my tools, I wanted them back clean and in the box. You should have heard the rowe. I told him he's welcome to borrow it. I know where all my toys are.

I went to Harbour Freight a few weeks ago and bought a lot of the same things you did. Great minds think alike. Thank you for sharing your finds. I think I spent more money there than my boyfriend did when we went together. I didn't see the smaller rolling tool boxes. Those would be great additions to any craft or sewing room. I also got a magnetic box of gloves holder and a magnetic paper towel holder there. I also like to paint on fabric among other things so they will come in handy. A lot of people have shared some great ideas in their comments. I just love when we build each other up and help each other out along our journeys. Thanks again for sharing your finds.

All good ideas! I use pipe cleaners from the dollar store to tie the electric cords neatly 😊

I buy their inexpensive painters drop cloths for fabric. My favorite use is to make reusable shopping bags! I also bought some rubber tipped gloves for free motion quilting, along with many of the things you have shown us!
I always go to Harbor Freight with my husband! 😊

The green/red bigger magnet hooks you showed - I have the next weight class up in some just like those. I painted them white to match the white, metal sided barns in my yard. When I finish a quilt and need to photograph it I put safety pins in the top of the quilt and hang the pins on the magnets on the barn. The safety pins are barely or never visible and the magnets hold it up great while I get the shots I want. Just another idea for those.

Thank you for this video!! I purchased a light strip from Harbor Freight that you can cut to whatever length you need, and it has a strong adhesive on the back and remote control. Even has different colors you can set it on! I cut it to fit on the underside of my sewing machine throat. It is so bright and awesome!! It has made my sewing experience soo much better, and the price was amazing!!

An eye opener for me. Those are a lot of cool quilting accessories. I had to laugh, my husband and I just went to Harbor Freight because he wanted to buy one of those tool boxes that went on sale and I just stayed in the truck to cross stitch. He has to wait till the color he wants to come in but I’ll be tagging along when that day comes and will be putting a few things in the cart. 😆 Thanks for the video. Now to make my list 😊

Hello, I have the same tools I found at Harbor Freight, but what I have that I did not see you present are the metal 48" ruler which is great for lining up long strips or blocks. Also, the strip lights. Thanks for sharing your new discoveries.

as a single person, i take myself to harbor freight and I've always looked at tools as tools and not job specific. My work table is a metal prep table, so magnets from HF are great for holding down pattern pieces and fabric and more.

Harbor Freight is the best kept secret for crafters, no matter what medium you work in. I just love when my hubby announces a field trip. I don't quilt, but I've bought many inexpensive paper crafting and book making supplies there. And yes, who wouldn't love those shiny, red tool chests! Thanks for a fun video.

I've bought several things from there. My husband goes a lot too. One of the things I buy are the rotary cutter blades. They are very cheap compared to the craft stores.

Here's my favorite Harbor Freight tool. The Central Machinery Long Reach Magnetic Pickup Tool with Quick Release. The release allows me to pick up pins etc. from the floor and then drop the pins onto a magnetic pin holder without getting stuck. I always get it out when hubby is assembling household items...screws fly you know. LOL Hope to get to HF soon. I want some of the glow in the dark rope to make a bowl.

I don’t do quilting but I have a craft room. I watched your video out of curiosity about the things you found at Harbor Freight. I’ve been with my husband to HF and found a rotating tier tray for some of my craft materials. It was not nearly as expensive as some I’ve seen in craft stores. It had to be assembled but my husband put it together for me pretty quickly.

I liked your presentation style of showing what you bought but also including pictures of other color options. Every time I heard you say Quilt Room, I substituted Craft Room. 😉 Thank you for reminding me I need to visit HF. It has been a while! I told my husband HF needs to contact you about sponsoring a video. Yes, I think they need to do that! Good luck with your channel. I know it takes a lot of work and dedication to build a channel because our son has a YouTube channel. 👍🏻
