i just went to the demon bell shortcut to headless i didnt even know about this other route untill i backtracked through the whole area

After reach Isshin ( Old man ) at the roof .. Take a walk a little and u can drop on that idol easly also ...

You can jump from the top of the castle after talking to emma, look for the pond where you fight a headless.
