How to Install Windows 11 on Mac (UTM 2024)

This video goes over installing Windows 11 on an application called UTM. UTM is a virtualization application that allows the emulation of a variety of operating systems. This video today focuses on installing spice guest tools (drivers such as display and network) along with the basic installation and operation of windows 11. UTM is currently only available for arm based Mac systems such as M1,M2,M3.

Thanks! Just got a new M4 and didn't realize it didn't have bootcamp. Watched some other videos but it kept hanging up on the drivers. I went through yours and first time I didn't 100% listen and I didn't match my system hardware to what you had and I ended up with the black screen could not display. if anyone had the same error say utm windows guest has not initialized the display then setup can not be completed . please try use vmware fusion 13 to install the same windows iso and it will work . Please dont waste time on the UTM as of now because I dont think the bug can be fixed in a while . no affense to UTM just do the right thing not do the things "right"

This isn't working for me. Once the VM starts running, I get a "mapping table" with a bunch of what looks like registry keys, and a shell> prompt at the end. Its a UEFI Interactice shell v2.2 menu/prompt. Can't get past that.

I downloaded my version of the win11.iso from windows on an older win10 PC and transferred it to the Mac external HD.

This video is just what I Jack knows what he is talking about he speaks at a rate of knots it is impossible to keep up. The instructions at the side are half covered over....not helpful. I am 76 and not that computer savvy. With my previous MacBook Pro I managed to split the storage to work with Windows but my husband gave that computer a drink of whine and killed it. This seems a far better way of working with Windows on a Mac if only I could understand the instructions. Do you think you could do an idiots guide in slow motion please so that I can follow the instructions while watching and listening. Maybe you could show the whole of the width of written instructions. Yours is the best instruction video so far. Others assume you will know this bit or that bit and skim over the bits but I know nothing. You have only done this once but thank you for trying. I have been trying to work this out for over a week without success..
