The universal sweet spots that should go with any motherboard are:
DDR4: 3200mhz
DDR5: 6000mhz

Every pc needs 20 gigafarts if you want to play games on high end settings, I personally have 3 terasharts, but for a budget build 3 gigafarts is fine because most people aren’t playing maximum settings cyberpunk.
Edit: Just checked and the Ryzen 4070 has about 7 gigafarts so It is definitely a awesome budget option

Would also double check if the ram is running at the speed it's being sold as. Some manufacturers default it to below specs.

Step 1, check the max RAM speed your motherboard and cpu can handle, and choose the lower of those two numbers.
Step 2. Get as close to that number as you can afford. It's OK to go over if the price is the same (but you won't get any extra speed, it will be capped), and it's OK to go under if it's too expensive. You can upgrade the size and speed of your RAM later if needed—its basically the easiest upgrade there is.

I don't know if this would be affected by overclocking, but if you're overclocking, you can do your own research.

Geforce rtx 2060
Intel i9 12900K
64GB of ram ( corsair ) 3600mhz
Gigabyte B760 Gaming x DDR4

Sorry for the confusion as some people rudely pointed out. He asked for RAM specs. My RAM is the Corsair Vengeance RGB SL 64GB CL 18, DDR4 3600, 1.35 volt.

6000MHz CL30 bb! The 7800X3D isn't always stable with anything more than that anyway. I am curious if the 9800X3D will be stable with the next jump up in ram speed🤔

Depends on the Infinity Fabric on Ryzen: If you have Ryzen 5xxx series the "sweet spot" is 3600MHz ram DDr4 as the Infinity F works at 1800MHz so you need double than that for RAM.
ON Ryzen 7xxx series the Infinity fabric works at 2000MHz so for using DDr5 the "sweet spot" is a 6000MHz RAM.

6000mhz CL32? You can easily get CL30.

In my opinion the optimal ram Mhz is the one that your CPU can handle, if it is 3200Mhz the that one, don't waste a single cent on more RAM speed because you won't be using all of it. Also depends on price, if your CPU can handle 8000Mhz but it's too expensive then 6000Mhz it's just fine and will perform amazingly.

People might laugh, but I got my first pc has r5 5700x and rtx4070 (note for everyone where I live (Latvia, Europe) every amd graphics card card is 50-100 euro more expensive than in America, every part is at least 10-15 euros more expensive than in America, my budget was 800 euros)

I have 32GB(2*16) RAM of 4800mhz cl-38 and its still giving me optimum performance

I just got 32gb ddr5 5600mhz (sadly 6000mhz in Canada prime day was like 25$ more) but my CL is 30 😊. Also picked up a ryzen 4070 on big discount.

guys there is nothing wrong with ddr4, But if you want a rig to last you along time just go ahead and go am5 right now and get ddr5... this ddr5 can poss last you 10 years so you might as well get the 8x2 ram right now and add 8x2 down the road... amd 5 is here to stay along with the 7500f, 8600g or even the 7700x "both those last CPU have really good integrated and you can save up for GPU down the road"

16 gb ram in min, 32 gb is idea, 48-64gb is way overkill unless you edit vids, content creator or use pc as massive server... most of us just game... 32 gb is the sweet spot

RIGHT NOW on micro center you can get 7700x, really good mobo AND upgrade to one 24gb ddr5 stick for less than $310.. all you have to do is buy another 24 gb down the road and that total 48 gb ram can last you 10 years if you wanted. you will not have to "waste" $ on ddr4.. ram is crucial for gaming and if you can run 24x2 for the next 10 years its way worth it for that MC bundle right now

I learned I should look at batter CL ratings, and choose ram speed as 2nd priority.

I'm not a professional gamer, I don't have a big PC, I'm not planning to build one ever
But i still enjoy gaining the knowledge for some reason. I've gone from not even knowing the difference between intel/AMD or between i3, 5, 7 / generation to almost ready to build my own pc from scratch ❤

Am i the only one who finally built his dream pc but now struggling to find an game
Edit = guys i didnt mean single player games
I like online competitive games
But no new era is coming
Like in 2017-18 era of fortnite and pubg
2020-21 era of apex legends
No game is conquering the field like that now
