Haha nicely done, human nature being what it is, to start off asking what you'd left off. Of course you did discuss lighting but personally I'd emphasize it and consider it the visual equivalent of using a proper microphone. Certainly if you want to shoot people, and who doesn't, a cheap led, stand, and umbrella can have more impact than anything else you could buy. When you lower the ambient light enough to see the effect it's a revelation. You don't _need_ lights, no. But after a camera and mic I'd say it's #3 if you want to do pro-style work.

My list for beginners
Camera -> Sony Z90 - 2800 USD
Audio -> Wireless lavaliere mic -> Sennheiser EW 112P - 650 USD, Boom mic -> MKE 600 - 350 USD
Lighting -> A lot of choices here, what is important to look for is a good CRI over 90%. Good lights will cost you around 700-2000 USD depending on the power, accessories etc.
Tripod -> Sachtler Ace M - 750 USD
Accessories - Camera bag, batteries, media, cables - 1000 USD
Extra - Headphones and monitor - 1000 USD
