Crown Heights Affair ~ Dreaming A Dream 1975 Disco Purrfection Version
Показать описание
something to raise your saturday night fever.
This song so exemplifies the uplifting effect disco could have, the bright sunshiny sound that makes me feel happy. The exuberance of this song draws you along in a funky way...the jazz funk element was the perfect touch to turn it into a #1 disco hit in 1975.
The Crown Heights Affair was an R&B/Funk group founded in 1967 New York City first known as Ben Iverson & The Nue Day Express. Their big break was being signed to RCA Records and released "(You Can't Bend) My Super Rod" in 1974. Viagra should pick up on that one. They also succumbed to the streaking fad, you know taking a run through a normal social situation wearing nothing but a smile and a pair of tennis shoes with "Streaking" in 1974.
Named after the neighborhood in their native Brooklyn, Crown Heights Affair, the group gained recognition after being signed to De-Lite Records in 1975, also home to Kool & the Gang.
The group members were vocalist Phil Thomas, keyboardist Howard Young, vocalist/trumpeter James Baynard and Tyrone Cox, Vocalist/bassist Lorenzo Wilson, vocalist/guitarist William Anderson, vocalist/percussionist Ray Rock and brother Bert Reid- Vocals/saxophonist with Raymond Reid- vocals/trombonist.
The Crown Heights Affair continued on with "Every Beat Of My Heart" #2 disco, "Dancin'" a #6 disco hit, "You Gave Me Love" #12 1976 and in 1990 "I'll Do Anything" made it to #43 dance.
