Les Paul vs Stratocaster

I recently did a head to head jam with my Gibson Les Paul Slash Victoria Goldtop and Fender CS Strat John Mayer 64 replica.

I love strats. My first guitar was a strat. My current guitar is a Les paul Standard 60's
While the strat sounds good, the Les Paul *IS* that rock sound. It just is.

There is no room for comparison, one person must have both! Les Paul is the strongest in the drive channel, that is clear to everyone! As for the Stratocaster, there is no guitar in the world that can beat it on a clean channel.

Nice playing 👏 LP sounds nice above 12th fret leads. Strat has a more expressive voice overall IMOP .

I've owned both in my time and prefer the strat but that's just my preference. Both guitars are different in weight, feel, neck, etc. Anyone looking to buy a guitar should try both out and see which is best for them.

Single coil vs. humbucker, 24&3/4 vs. 25&1/2, it's really a matter of preference, l like both, PRS ain't bad either, though some may suggest otherwise.

They both sound great it's not really the guitar that makes it sound great it's the guy playing it makes it sound great.

In 1976 I purchased my first real guitar a 1973 strat with my lawn cutting money my next 43 guitars were Les Paul’s including a PRS Les Paul 😊

I’ve always felt the a LP has a more raw sound, more adaptable to a metal genre, where a Stat has a cleaner sound more suited to other genres. The glaring exception being Dave Murray of Maiden who’s keeping the Strat relevant and front and centre in metal. Either way, it really boils down to the player, amp/effects and desired tone. You sound awesome on both!
