Check out this new #GoodbyeChristopherRobin #featurette about author #AAMilne and the creation of the #WinnieThePooh stories inspired by his son Christopher Robin.

GOODBYE CHRISTOPHER ROBIN gives a rare glimpse into the relationship between beloved children's author A.A. Milne (Domhnall Gleeson) and his son Christopher Robin (Will TIlston), whose toys inspired the magical world of Winnie-the-Pooh. Along with his mother Daphne (Margot Robbie), and his nanny Olive (Kelly Macdonald), Christopher Robin and his family are swept up in the international success of the books; the enchanting tales bringing hope and comfort to England after the First World War. But with the eyes of the world on Christopher Robin, what will the cost be to the family?

Whoever did the casting for this film did an amazing job. Not only is Domhnall a really good actor, but he even looks a lot like the real A.A when you look at real photographs of A.A and Christopher.

Brilliant! Simply brilliant! A A Milne had been so traumatised and suffered mental scars due to the horrors of the war, it was hard to deal with the symptoms. Billy Moon was the main reason for his inspiration. He restored the happiness of the good people of the world without even realising it. Unfortunately, his son had to pay the price for it.

I am glad the son finally made his peace with things. I liked the books so much as a kid, I had no idea.

There was some hint of tension at the time. Ogden Nash put this little set of verses into the New Yorker referring to it:

MY DADDY
-by Ogden Nash

I have a funny daddy

Who goes in and out with me

And everything that baby does

My daddy’s sure to see

And everything that baby says

My daddy’s sure to tell

You *must* have read my daddy’s verse

I hope he fries in hell
