Making Sculptures/Models With Milliput Epoxy Putty (How To Use Milliput Epoxy Putty)

Today I'm making sculptures/models with Milliput epoxy putty, and showing you how to use Milliput epoxy putty. Milliput is basically a clay type of material, however it uses resin as a component that make the putty set to a rock hard finish. Milliput and other epoxy putty's are great for model making, sculptures, fixes at home etc. Now although I was showing you how to use Milliput epoxy putty, I did make a mistake at the beginning, you should always mix Milliput so that there are no streaks, otherwise you run the risk of the epoxy putty not setting, or breaking up. But once I realised I was pretty happy with my second attempt! I think my little sculptures/models has quite the charm! But let me know what your thoughts were on Milliput, and if you'll making any fun things with Milliput epoxy putty!

Milliput is great. I’ve been using this stuff for decades.

I’ve known people fix rust holes in petrol tanks with this. I’ve even seen it used to fill rust holes in the bodywork of old cars, sanded smooth and re sprayed. I’ve used it to fill gaps and joins in models and miniatures, sculpt modifications on models, sculpted models from scratch, made bespoke beads for jewellery, scenery making, filling holes in doors and walls, repairing broken toys, mending broken ceramics, gluing things together with it, repairing broken arms on my spectacles, strengthening small weak structures, making moulds, general filling, replicating stone, adding textures to hard flat surfaces, minor plumbing repairs, repairing broken UPVC window shelves, fixing damaged wood on door hinges, hiding chips in ceramic tiles, making Christmas decorations, fake sweets, disguising chips and scratches in baths and washbasins and many, many other things. There’s very little this stuff can’t do. Mix it right and it sets like stone. It’ll even set underwater.

It’s super important to mix each stick in equal amounts and it has to be mixed so the colour is uniform with no streaks or marbling, as you discovered, or it just doesn’t set hard enough. It’s hard work on the hands to mix it properly. I’ve also found that you can slow down the curing time by adding a bit of water.

If you get it on clothes, furniture etc it’s a nightmare to remove once it sets because it’s stone-hard. I’ve even had it stuck to the skin on my hands and it took about a week to wear off. It can sometimes irritate the skin so it’s best to use gloves ( I didn’t for years, but it is better and safer). Also, using epoxy products over prolonged periods can result in respiratory conditions. Not only are gloves recommended, but also face masks - especially if if it’s going to be drilled, filed or sanded afterwards. In fact, the safety data sheet for Milliput also recommends using eye protection and an extractor if drilling, filing or sanding.

Kneading it for four hours to get it hard does show great deal of dedication and perseverance for your vocation. I am glad you never repaired a petrol tank with it, that might have gone horribly wrong.

A bit late to the party but only discovered you a week or two ago.
I do the let the materials talk, no plans…sometimes great results. Sometimes not so much haha. Great job, highly entertaining.

Thanks Anthony. You are the most underated Youtuber that I know of.
Best Wishes

I hope you are holding up well.

Yeah it would be "interesting" to see a complete beginner take an interest in "warhammer".

ANTHONY CRAMMEN!!! The innuendos in this episode 🤦‍♀️😂🍆
I've always used Milliput for repairing or adding to existing things, but never thought to use it as a sculpting material itself! I love your creations 😀

Initially I thought Frank, too, but now I'm leaning more towards Jerri -- with an i -- because. This video was *so* much fun for so many reasons. All I can say is the Ace of Clay has nothing on you, and the Algorithm really needs to get its sh*t together. And anyone who has any complaints about your voice is just stupid. I hope you have a great weekend! I will be editing... and editing... and then editing... 🤣🤣

Wow I just bought some of this the other day. I have this idea of making little fancy scroll like embellishments for a frame. I haven’t got a mould or a frame though lol. Now that would be a cool video- making a mould. I’m being selfish I just want to know how to do it. And I can’t sleep 🎉

Loved them both, you made me want to get some Milliput putty. I'm not too good with sculpting but yours have came out so well I thought if Ant can do it I can too. You actually made it look easy😂. Think I'll have a go a some little Halloween themed sculptures. Thanks for inspiring me❤
