Cyberpunk 2077's first expansion isn't just additional content - but a radical revamp of the whole game. In the summer games event season, a bunch of footage was released - b-roll for PC, Xbox and PS5, trailers for Xbox and PC - and here's what we make of the assets shown so far.

I'm not sure what it is with this expansion but what stands out the most is the lighting for me. It looks evolved somehow even without overdrive rtx

I still believe night city architecturally is the best city I’ve ever experienced in a game. It’s incredibly immersive to just walk around and look at the amount of detail they put into this world

Wow, if the game had only released on next gen consoles maybe we might not have seen the end of the red engine. Looks beautiful, the lighting is great.

I’m very glad CDPR is also working on improving the police system as well as the enemy AI. I’m looking forward to this DLC + update

They're really doing absolutely everything to make people happy and trust them again which i fully respect, no other company gives you gameplay footage on every platform with every graphic setting as well as redoing the trailer with the highest settings to showcase the PC visuals

new patch rolled out too
"Fixed an issue where some surfaces had color artifacts when Path Tracing was enabled."
THAT is what I needed, so happy! Path Tracing now usable.

I'm actually impressed that the regular rasterized console versions don't look that bad compared to the path-traced pc. Of course there are clear differences, but it is not like the consoles are being put to shame. Gorgeous game all around

Tom I must say, your breakdown is without a doubt the best in the biz! Truly Enjoyed.

My favorite part of all the Phantom Liberty footage is that the sky is finally the color of a television tuned to a dead channel instead of the clear blue sky it was 80% of the time in the base game. I hope it reflects an actual change we will see in the game and it's not just for the trailer or only in Dogtown. Looks so much more dystopian.

Looks great but I think we don't need anymore graphical fidelity for this gen. I want to see more a new approach of AI we need the next gen AI system. Making the world actually lived in not just beautiful world but to actually interact with it

I know some people would like to give a big middle finger to this sentiment, but I am very happy that developers and console makers are now starting to stick solely to the current-gen and PC. As for this expansion DLC specifically, I haven't been looking into it much... I thought this came out at the end of this year. One of those titles that regardless of excitement level, I know I'd probably get it anyways.

The results are not surprising since Series X is more powerful than PS5.

11:02 Looks like Sony forgot to pay for framerate parity. Cyberpunk shows the true abilities of each console.

Interesting that CDPR was confident enough as to provide DF with high quality b-roll of the expansion from 3 versions. With the original game they weren't as generous

I’ve been saying it for a while now, but 1440 P 60 is where it’s at for these consoles! Forget 4K 30 FPS.

Path Tracing showcase reminds me of the Terminator films. It is Hollywood lighting indeed.

RIP REDengine. It was fun while it lasted.

The descent down the tube on PC was almost a parody of how ray-tracing is not the godsend everyone is pushing it as. It's realistic... but you can't see a thing. Games are games, reality is reality, reality isn't better, I've made this argument so many times I'm bored of it.
