Mixamo Vs UE5 Game Animation Sample (GAS)?

Testing out the character movements. Which looks better?

While the library of free and easy to use Mixamo animations have been the go-to resource for quality animations, Epic Games just changed the landscape by making more than 500+ AAA quality animations with motion matching available and they integrate so fluidly! 😍

The dilemma now is...to keep the game's original retro look by using Mixamo animations or go for a more modern experience with GAS?

The mixamo version can look so much better too depending on extra setup! You can do strafing as well, and you can do additive animation to blend a landing animation after jumping to transition it better

please dont use G.A.S. its missleading. GAS is the common shortcut for Gameplay Ability System

its not that simple at all, mixamo we all know, it is standard aproach widelly known and used very straithforward and simple to implement. on the other side ue5 gasp is specific for useage in ue with distance matching, trajectory curve, motion warping etc with not yet clear unreal new implementation with several plugins in beta, with bugs and so. also those epic animations aint simple mocap animation we used to, and its not clear yet and easy to add simmilar just like. last but not unimportant, all gasp system is bit heavier with all new goodies than old aproach.

I knew it. It is motion making plugin not GAS or GASP. GAS = game Ability system. GASP is game animation sample project. YT idiots just created more confusion.

Mixamo? Mixamo is a source of animations. It's not an animation system. GASP is both. The comparison is of the apples-and-oranges variety.
