The video quality is always premium, the jokes always hit, the knowledge is always so eloquently stated, the add ins and editing is always crips. I just love and live for your videos. Not to mention the lol I love when you post friend! Keep doing your big one!

I’m 5 years in and this is all so true! Especially not following every rule and doing what works the best for you and the health of your hair 😊

A lesson I learned— don't rely on scarves, and don't forget about your hair 🗣

I fell into a bit of slump when I wasn't really taking care of myself or my hair and suddenly saw head scarves and satin scarves being raved about as a form of protective styling. Immediately, I thought
"this is great"
I was wearing a scarf nearly every day, and I was completely neglecting my hair for weeks at a time because no one was talking about how it was still important to take care of your hair even under a scarf. Imagine my surprise when one day I took my scarf off and girl... my edges had up and left me 🤧💀 so many emotions. I was so sad, embarrassed, all the things. This was when I really started looking into taking care of my hair during protective styling because

We still need to take care of our hair when it's tied up, ya'll! Your hair is gonna love you a lil bit and leave you if you forget about her.

I also learned about letting my hair breathe and take breaks. If I had a protective style in for a while, or if I had been wearing a head scarf for a few days, I would take a break and let my hair be natural and have some time to breathe

I've been natural for about 10 years, and I FINALLY know what products are my favorite that work for my hair except deep conditoners and maybe rinse out conditioners. Still working on those lol

been on my natural hair journey since 8th grade, now im 19, n i can't believe i haven't thought of having different products for different styles. it makes so much sense, esp when u gave the painting analogy (as im an artist as well) like omg.. i simplified my routine a lot bc i usually just do wash n goes or some sort of week long protective style, but shit doesn't always work out how i like it lol. i feel guilty buying more products for my hair for some reason as well, so i think that's a good reminder for me to have. lemme go to target rq n get that doux foam girl!

I’ve only recently started my hair journey and it was harrowing at first as i’d be learning all on my own so your videos are very enjoyable, especially as it’s uncommon to find other black men who grow their hair out.

I'm glad you got me away from trying to do fiftyleven things to my hair to get moisture. I remember trying the "maximum moisture routine" and it literally made me wanna stop being natural.

Another tip I learned from you is to follow the directions when using products. I would freestyle stuff and then get mad cuz the product “didn’t work” 😩🤣🤣

the worst part is so many natural hair YouTubers don’t post anymore. I still need help and guidance.

Will, thank you for these tips, but can you give us a vlog style (or sit down like this) video of week in your hair? Like going from wash day to wash day, what do you typically do to keep your hair moisturized, protected, and looking cute all week?

Aside from a kiddie relaxer my aunt convinced me to do in high school, I’ve always had natural hair. But I feel like my mom with bone straight did better by my hair when I was a kid than I do at my grown 41yo behind. I need help!! 😂 Because I swear I start off each wash day with the best of intentions but end up with a crusty dry rat’s nest by the next wash. Even if it’s in a protected style. 😂 🙏🏾 Please help the clueless girlies like me.
