The Jab is absolutely the best punch ever. It's the reason Lennox Lewis beat Mike Tyson. It's the only punch GSP needed to throw against Josh Koscheck in their 2nd fight

I imagine the power jab can increase the efectiveness of the flick also since the oponent will respect and fear it more.

Everyone hates that stiff jab in the nose. It frustrates the hell out of me. Makes my eyes fill up snaps my head back screws up my balance and stalls my attacks. Definately a great tool.

I used to use the flicker jab and then I started depending on my power jab. Especially after watching Liam Harrison videos

I am more of a heavy set guy- i prefer more square stance, hence power shots. But a flick is pretty good for obstructing the view- and i use it to launch my hand to catch the left forearm of the opponent, push it down and give myself split second to throw my right

I'm currently reading Championship Boxing by Jack Dempsey.

He advocated keeping the fist square, like a wing chun kung fu punch, as it directed the power in a straight line of what he called "the power line".

Dempsey also describes in detail how to use a "drop step" allowing the redirection of both forward and gravitational dropping forces into the punch.
