World's First Electric Mercedes G-Wagen

For the first time ever, Mercedes has released its luxury off-roader as an EV. We went out to the Nevada desert, to check out the G 580. It's an electric SUV that can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds. It's packed with loads of amazing tech and cool lighting while still keeping the iconic G-Wagen look.

Don’t care what anyone says .. I love this truck. My only complaint is that there is no “frunk” 😂😂. i don’t care about the sounds

As a daily driver of a G-Wagen, the things I would be most excited about is the keyless entry (not having to press button on key fob every time you want to lock or unlock doors) which they said back in 2020 could not be done if we still wanted the click sound and then also that 360 rotation feature is kind of cool too. However, I will be keeping my gas powered G… you just can’t replicate the emotion of that engine and the hum feeling that even the best speakers can’t replicate perfectly.

The title of the video implies that some other company could have created an electric G-Wagon. Instead, the title should have been "Mercedes' First Electric G-Wagon".

Pretty cool. I just did a valve cover gasket job on my 2004 G500, and I must admit, as much as I like the M113 engine, an electric G with almost 300 miles range sounds pretty good.

It works. Until winter time, in the northeast, when the range drops a bunch. As many owners of electric vehicles found out last winter. Hopefully someone will be able to solve for that-eventually. Considering the price range it looks even better when you compare it against the EV Hummer, which is going for about $110k where I live.
