What is the life expectancy of a flex linar

So, what is the recommendation for new chimneys?
Given that
a) houses have open-ended lifespans.. say > 150 years.
b) chimneys are often interior and inaccessible
c) judging from this show, clay liners don't last and often cannot be repaired/replaced
Do you skip clay liners are start with a stainless steel liner?
Do you install liners with the expectation of periodic replacement? If so, what does that entail? (ie, flow-in insulation doesn't seem to make sense).
