It proved the perfect proving ground for the Yamaha Tenere 700 World Raid, a motorcycle designed to be a new and improved version of the standard Tenere 700.

So what's new for 2022? Well, this isn't a completely new model. The engine and chassis remain the same but the Tenere World Raid features a larger fuel tank, better suspension, more ground clearance, a larger screen, and an all-new TFT display. But it also has a taller seat height, it's heavier, and it costs almost £2,000 more.

So, is the Yamaha Tenere 700 World Raid better than the Tenere 700? Is it worth the upgrade if you're a current Tenere owner? And which should you choose if you're buying one of these adventure bikes for the first time?

Thinking off getting one as a second bike I currently have a 1250gs but off road I just find it to big and heavy but love the bike hence not wanting to sell also have a ktm 300 tpi but riding from chesterfield to Buxton it’s just too far away for it so selling the ktm to get this Yamaha exited 🎉

Yamaha Dealer says good luck to get the 700 and the World Raid 2 years away at least. I'm looking into other manufacturers.

If not using it as a Rally bike, but rather as a long distance adventure bike, the glaring omission is cruise control. Just did 7, 000 miles NJ to CA round trip on my GS. Combination pavement and dirt, which is what I imagine this T7 World Raid would be targeted at. Without cruise control the long highway sections between the dirt sections would have been much less comfortable.

What rally races are you speaking about? I am not aware of any for this class/displacement of bikes?
