Since the early days of Rising, Saagar has consistently said the GOP pivoting to new culture war issues instead of the usual wedge issues (abortion, guns, socialism everywhere etc.) was a winning strategy. I thought he was crazy (thinking most average working people are not overly touched by the cultural elite). Hard to argue this was not THE issue in VIrginia.

When will we get a party that doesn't have to pay lip service to the extremes? The vast majority of us are in the middle. We may swing left or right of center on certain issues, but at the end of the day we want to provide for our families, stay healthy, send our kids to school (for an education that will lead to gainful employment, not win a debate on Twitter), and have some kind of security for our old age. Neither extreme is addressing those things. They represent the worst of us and the internet/social media/msm, have given them a microphone with far too much volume. We need a viable third party that is not beholden to special interests, extremism, or corporations. We need a third party that represents the vast majority of us who simply want our government to do the job of governing not dictating.

Here from NJ. I'm a middle manager in the restaurant business, hardcore independent leaning, politically. We all fucking hate Murphy here. I personally know people who have flipped to republican to get Murphy out.

I’m from New Jersey, Black, lean Democrat/Progressive, don’t hate Murphy but don’t like many of his governing decisions and most of my friends can be described as the same @ lemme tell you; the Black community of NJ that I’m apart overwhelming hate vaccine mandates and I personally seen multiple Facebook post by friends of mine that urged others to vote against Murphy because of his mandates. I knew there was many that felt the way we do but had NO IDEA it was enough to cause a 49% to 49% election result!
