Shinigami's aren't the heroes and this are the reasons?? Bleach, Bleach Anime, Gotei 13, Unohana, Yamamoto, Kaname Tosen, Aizen, Ichigo.

I was going to disagree but I forgot about mayuri he is the bleach equivalent of a walking war crime and is so evil you end up having sympathy for the enemies who have the displeasure of meeting him

I mean, to be fair, Mayuri kind of addresses this in a way, (he didnt LITERALLY say it or anything. He just more or less addressed it.) when he murdered the 37k souls, (I think that was the exact number. I don't remember exactly since it's been so long. But it was in the few thousand.) in one of the outskirt villages in the soul society to keep all 3 worlds from overflowing with souls when the quincys killed a whole bunch of hollows.

Mayuri has always understood, (and made it known to others due to his experiments.) that the soul reapers ARE NOT good guys. BUT, they aren't necessarily the bad guys either. Their main objective has always been to maintain the balance of souls within all 3 worlds.

Yamamoto even says this himself. The soul society was created strictly for the balance of souls within all 3 worlds. Whether or not the beings who uphold that balance, corrupted or not with their own senses of morality, doesn't matter to them as long as their primary objective is maintained and carried out.

We as an audience were told this quite often throughout the entire series. Some soul reapers are actually "good" in the actual sense of the word to some degree, (shuhei, Rukia, Ichigo.) but most are just balancers.

Thats all it really comes down to for them honestly.

I always thought of those guys as the bad guys, coz most of the villains they fought became villains because of them.... As for the system, it's even badder than the Shinagamis. I could give a lot of examples on the system part, but I'll just go with Toshiro's friend who acquired Hyorimaru. As if the battle wasn't bad enough, they just chose to kill him.

Soul reapers are balancers, they aren't made to be good or evil, but to maintain the balance of souls by killing hollows so there aren't too many, and when the need arose, killing an innocent village when too many hollows were dying

I guess... the way the central 46 handled Urahara's matter was the worse. They didn't allow him to explain what happened to the other captains and the vice captains in the hollofication matter. Well, probably another Aizen's power at work. But it doesn't make sense

Kinda reminds me of the untouchables in real life, the old generation of “protectors” were nothing more than loose cannons. But back then there was little to no order, so you had to kinda stoop down to their level in order to get the job done. There was no “by the book” because there was no book. But as time passes and order is established and peace is achieved, the need for stronger protectors becomes less and less. BUT justice and genuine good people become protectors.

There are just three fractions that refuse or either cannot coexist with one another their different views of how things should work/be is the cause of conflict as the result of difference in opinions, If ichigo never became a soul reaper first we would have a completely different story as he'd mostly likely be hunted by the soul reapers

This is completely wrong, Original gotei 13 were not villains but just a bunch of criminals that were granted freedom and no restrictions just so they could kill Quincy at the time and protect the soul society. It’s much more of a necessary evil in order to keep the worst ones away or gone.
