the thing i love about soma is that he isn't a natural cook. he's not a prodigy like his father. he just decided that he was gonna be a chef and spent his life devoted to learning new methods and applying it to his style. hell he's had shokugeki's just to learn a new type of cooking if he won. even his father is impressed by the drive soma has in goals, and i think that's awesome.

I like how they solved this. Soma doesn't change the recipe into something different, he just makes his stand into a hibachi breakfast counter and draws attention through flair.

I can imagine this kid at 2:27 getting inspired by Soma and having a dream of becoming a cook like in those anime where a kid sees something inspiring and vows to become whatever they found inspiring since that day. Like in Haikyuu where Hinata sees the little giant as a kid and is like "I MUST BECOME LIKE THE LITTLE GIANT"
