I am a lifetime liberal and a Bernie Sanders fan, but Mitt Romney's speech is 100% spot on. Romney was one of the few Republicans, along with John Kasich and John McCain, who had the balls to stand up to Trump and I commend them for that.

Still an excellent speech with well-made points. Mitt Romney was able to predict the outcomes of Trump's policies and character quite well.

It's unfortunate that the majority of people who actually bothered to listen to it however in his intended audience - that of Republicans and conservatives at large in America - seem incapable of actually understanding or responding to his points in good faith. You only have to go a very short while in this very comment section to find countless such people calling him a "con man" or singing the praises of their Lord and Savior Trump, and yet you will struggle to find any comments which actually are able to form any kind of coherent argument.

Coherent arguments of course are the bane of such folks. When you buy into a cult of personality, you don't care about logic or reality - you just want to feel like your glorious leader is correct.

It happens all the time, and it's hard to get past such stupidity.

I will be quite surprised if I can find even a single coherent argument against what was said in this speech as a response to this comment.

Edit: To be clear - I'm not a fan of Mitt Romney in general. I disagree with a huge number of his policies in general, and think he is fairly corrupt in many ways. Though I have to give credit where credit is due: he is infinitely less corrupt than someone like Donald Trump for being willing to speak up in ways like this, even knowing that doing so might make him unpopular. The fact millions of people now call him a "Republican in Name Only" despite him clearly representing Republican values very strongly, is proof of this fact. What people using the phrase "RINO" mean when pointing towards Mitt Romney is not that he isn't conservative, or that he doesn't support traditional Republican values, or anything like that. What they mean is that he didn't support their glorious leader at all times, and to such cultists - Donald Trump is what defines being a Republican, not actual policies or meaningful values.

As far as I am concerned, cultists like that are the true "RINOs." Republicans who care nothing for values, but instead will change their views and opinions just as quickly as their leader does.
