I always thought that what lied under Mimikyu’s cloak is the ghost of a Clefairy, since Clefairy was originally going to be the mascot of Pokémon but was overtaken by Pikachu. As well as Clefairy sharing it’s fairy typing with Mimikyu.

Fun fact, Mimikyu can reliably kill a Mega Beedrill with Let's Snuggle Forever followed by Shadow Sneak if its disguise is intact. It's unbelievably satisfying to beat a speedy killing machine with this tiny adorable scrap of a pokemon.

I love Mimikyu's lore and design, but it staying OU in gen 7 for as long as it did was and always will be hilarious to me because it had no business being there.

But the Ability of disguise was OP until Gen 8 nurfed the ability.

Mimikyu's "tail" is just a log since it's part of the disguise thus enabling it to use wood hammer.
