Is the 3 Body Problem Worth Reading?

I haven' t read any of them, but it's simple. If you still have closets with enough space inside, keep one of the books. If you' ve started stacking books inside the bathtub, yeah, definitely donate them!

I didn't love 3 Body Problem that much, but it's worth sticking with just to read The Dark Forest

I’m currently reading ‘The Three Body Problem’ and I can honestly say it’s worth your time it’s pretty hard sci fi and the first chapter has Chinas cultural revolution as the setting. The translator has put footnotes to explain the context. Before reading the book I read some online journals and watched some documentaries about Chinese culture and Maos revolution to give me further context. It’s the first translated work to win a Hugo award which is pretty big for Sci Fi writers.

P.S. it can be pretty difficult reading Sci Fi because of the concepts and theories which are discussed in the books so sometimes I find myself googling a lot of words and concepts but other than that I think Cixn Liu does a great job of making it digestible for newbies.

As The Great World Spins is excellent but I picked up another book recently by McCann called This Side of Brightness which I could barely finish. So maybe 1 is enough

I watched tinker tailor..both BBC version( 6 hour plus episodes), film version with Gary Oldman, is well crafted plot ..I like it but it is an acquired taste : if spy movies not your thing then you should dump my favourite 😢

Get rid of all three of them. Three body problem is good but very dense to read it goes into very technical sci-fi and if you aren’t reading the entire series it’s not worth it since that first book brilliantly sets up the rest of the series. I would say keep it if you’re up for a challenge and read the entire series. Otherwise donate them all

I'm only familiar with "the three body problem" I heard it's great, but I haven't read any of these.
Read all of them, you might end up liking them. You never know!

Love three body problem but wouldn't recommend it. the sci fi concepts are the central focus and main appeal. And while I love the first book it is ultimately a prologue for the main story in book 2/3.

Three Body Problem has way too much science for someone who is not into sci fi. It’s a cool story but my god it’s boring at times

Three Body Problem is TRASH, don't understand the hype at all. Stupid plot, awful characters and clunky writing.
