How to Save a Route in Google Maps

When planning for the modern road trip, most people leave it up to apps like google maps to figure out the fastest way to get there. Here are a few ways to get this done!

It is incredible that close to 10 years since my last cross-country road trip, Google has STILL not added a custom route bookmark feature that you can use on your phone. Wow.

I don’t think non-coders understand how simple of an addition this would be to implement. If you can store favorite places, you should be able to store custom routes as well.

Here’s to hoping GMaps doesn’t take me off-roading again because it found “a better route” and also allows me more than 10 seconds to tap “No” before it directs me to drive through literal hell.

My maps save the map but NOT the directions, how is that helpful? HOw do you save directions, so that if you are offline you can see them

When I send my map from the computer to the IPhone, it does not send the edits.

finallly a video that works. Why is there no save directly on maps why would I need to go to my maps to create a new one when Im already logged in. That is a head scratcher.

Lots of wrong info. You can not save route by pinning, and you cant send it to phone. You can only save/sendt route points/ destinations. Device will calculate route from points...

Need 100% mobile functionality. Travelers often do not have access to a desktop.

Cannot save a walking route with multiple stops (a loop).

you would think that a company the size of google would make it easy to plan/save/recall a route on a mobile device, it's just a bag of poo imho
