Thank you for this bro, I got my liver "chopped" as the dude said from being too carefree with flicker jabs in close range sparring (we were told to keep in the range of a hula hoop" damn if I'll let that happen again, it hurts.

when I was active, I was near the Mexican border and met lots of lovely senoritas and being a southpaw was welcomed in a lot of their gyms to spar as there were not that many southpaws to spar with there. I'd like to add that all the Mexican fighters I met knew this punch and I was fortunate (and lucky) never to get hit with it, mainly because I was told to watch for it at all times! I would prefer throwing this punch from an orthodox stance as it has farther to travel and more easily blocked as a southpaw, plus I had to work a little more on technique, but since I'm left handed I was able to land it with a lot of power. Good point you made is don't reach for it, it should be short and crisp with your weight behind it to really be effective. As with any punch, go with what your opponent gives you. Have a good day!

I remember watching you almost a year ago trying to learn to be a boxer!

You can still put good damage on the liver from punching the lowest left (from the one being punched right) side of the ribs since they are so soft there, not as effective as from the front open space under ribs though

Liver is protected by your Ribs on the Right Side. Orthodox Fighters protect it with their Rear Right Hand.
Spleen also protected by your Ribs on the Left Side. Also results in pain when punched.
For South Paw Fighters, their Liver is Forward (Lead- Right Hand) and Spleen is Back (Rear- Left Hand).
