Don't ride the train during late nite or off peaks hours.
Look for a striped bar in the middle of the platform. That is where the conductor is.
Or go to the front of the Subway that is where the motorman is. I've seen NYPD on the platform of stations. Including mine which is Sheepshead Bay Road.

Back in 2019, my mom and I were in the subway station, and this guy is out of control he assaulted my mom because she wants to pay for a Metro Card, and that whole incident scares me

There's people that works the night shift..so those ones can't avoid not taken the train....at the peak hours...There's different shifts fir everyone...and I personally don't see no cops at the station I go to in the the peak hours...and that's very scary..🥺
