How to Reinstall Windows 8

Learn how to reset Microsoft Windows 8 to its factory default state


In this video tutorial we will show you how to reinstall Windows 8.
In order to reinstall Windows 8, you have to go the the "Settings" on your "Start" desktop. In appeared window choose "Change PC settings". In next window select "general". Scroll down and press "get started".

Below "remove everything and reinstall Windows". In appeared window choose "next". In following window choose "Clean the drive fully" or "Just remove my files".

After it you will see the warning "Ready to reset your PC", press "Reset". After it Windows will restart and the reinstall process will begin. It can take about 10-15 minutes to reset you Windows. After the reset is done, you will see the window with the "License terms", check accept the license terms and press "accept". In new window choose "PC name" and press "next". In next window press "Use express settings". In following window choose "sign without Microsoft account". In next window choose "Local account". In following window type a "username" and click "Finish". Now setup will finalize your settings and in a few minutes you will see Windows 8 "Start" screen. Now your Windows 8 is as a newly installed.

Thank you very much this is all I needed and for the people who ask if you need a disc to install I am sure yes because there will be a question asking you for the cd key which is what you will need to activate the operational system itself

thanks man!  I just need this because I was new to a PC and had a mac my whole life. You probably know that term "Apple doesn't get viruses, " that's not true but they are not that effective though. On the other hand, I downloaded a bunch of viruses, malware, etc. and have to reset my pc.

Sorry if this sounds stupid but i have a administrator account on my laptop (i forgot its password ) & I'm on a local account so if i do this will the administrator account be deleted?

Cant Reset my laptop. It says: connot find the files needed.
If you have a windows installation or recovery media, insert it and restart the PC from the media.

I dont have the media, this however can be downloaded on de windows website but it requires a windows 8.1 key ( windows 8 key doesn't work )

my son was awarded a laptop by our PM which had windows 801 pre installed.after some time windows became corrupted and I formatted the window 8.1 and installed windows 7 which ic not working properly.
I want to reinstall my default system(widows 8.1).Can i reinstall my default windows ?If yes how to solve the problem while i have no CD and PRODUCT KEY.

whenever i go to get started it comes as some of your files are missing and the recovery media will provide these and there is a cancel button and im confused on what to do
