Arduino PWM DC Motor Fan Speed Control

Показать описание
This is a demonstration of controlling a DC CPU Fan Motor speed using PWM (Pulse Width Modulation). With the potentiometer I am controlling the Duty Cycle of the Pulse Width Modulated signal and that signal goes into the base of the transistor, which actually controls the amount of current that flows in the motor.

I have a 12v 0.18a 3wire blower dc blower fan, I want to slow the speed down for long periods but need the full speed for initial start up for a couple of minutes. Can you advise me on which type of small speed controller I should buy for the well being of my blower. Have seen vids on transistor/ potentiometer methods but would rather buy the right tool for the right job so to speak. Thankyou. Great video.

I am doing something similar, did you get the power to turn on the fan from Arduino 5V or external source?
I am using a 12V 1.7A fan, linking it to an ARDUINO UNO and a potentiometer through MOSFET IRF540N

what if a fan is only spinning on PWM 255?

Can I put a display to show the fan speed and temperature?
