I would do humidity conditioning and test. Also would try temperature cycling testing. Polymer mechanical properties can change drastically in different conditions. Also would be interested to see a comparison of a standard basketball and this prototype in a wind tunnel

The "clack" sound this ball makes while being dribbled would certainly take time getting used to. Still, would pick one up just for a bit of dribbling every once in a while.

Will dirt get stuck in it and make the ball heavier? Is the aerodynamic the same for long distance shots? Really want to try it.

How does it travel through the air for a shot vs a traditional ball? It doesn't have that great thud that basketballs have.

What if it cracks or kids leave it outside ? How durable is it to weather and is there a guarantee replacement if it gets cracked

So it streatches and springs, might be able to make it have more kinetic energy while in the motion of being bounced. ;)

I'm actually curious about how these balls would handle in real-world conditions. As in, how would they work in an actual game and in typical conditions such as an NBA stadium, a school gym, or an outdoor blacktop court. I'm going to hold onto saying whether this change is good or not until more is known.

And because he never just bounced it normally or ACTUALLY showcased the ball.

This seems like a 100% marketing ploy that will never be a thing.

Just think even if it bounces the same when you throw it or shoot it it won’t have the same wind resistance because it has holes. It’s too different

I saw a drop test and this airless ball bounced half as high. I’ll stick with the normal ball, then you can control how much bounce you need if you’re playing outdoors in the sun or not

Suggestions:
1) Balloon inside the ball that prevents entry of dust and solid particles.
2) Or design the holes that allow one-way going outside while maintaining internal air pressure.
3) Accessory vacuum cleaner equipment that cleans up the insides of the ball.
