3 Mods + 113 HP Gains- 2015 Mustang EcoBoost

Watch at we take AM Expert, Heather's, 2015 EcoBoost Mustang and give it an engine overhaul. We want to see the full potential of the EcoBoost engine so first we install a must-have-mod, a cold air intake. We decided on the C&L Cold Air Intake which is an enclosed air box set up, which will help to keep the intake temperatures low, allowing for maximum performance.

The next modification we install is the Borla Off-Road 3 inch Downpipe which will free up any restriction in airflow and allow for the turbo to spool more quickly.

To go along with the Borla Downpipe, we install the Borla ATAK Catback exhaust for a more aggressive tone while also adding more performance gains. This exhaust offers one of the loudest sounds for the EcoBoost turbo system.

The final modification that ties all of these other mods together is the Cobb V3 tune. After a dyno run, this tune shows peak curve gains of 113 horsepower and 96 foot pounds of torque.

Exhaust system and tune to 400+ hp. Wow! Not bad! I love the sound too for a 4 cyl vehicle

Gotta go for Pro tunes with the Access Port after putting a catless downpipe, also gotta gut the PCV or have tuner raise the RPM to prevent smoking issues with the Ecoboost. Once you start getting these bolt ons you also need the better intercooler. So dont expect to just get power and efficiency with the simple bolt ons without the knowledge and research. Also a good trusted tuner. Or all of this will give you problems down the road.

I’m a V8 guy but I think these ecoboosts are the best dollar for dollar performance cars. An American Supra. Ford should have called it the SVO it would have been cooler. Tune, a MILD exhaust setup (no lawn mower sounds, a little burble), down pipe, and for a $26, 000 base price and $2500 in expenses and you have sub 5 second 0-60 car. High 12’s in the 1/4 for about $29000 is a banger of a deal

The 'old man' in me would've liked to see a aftermarket catted downpipe. Most of us would like our new car to pass state inspection after we mod it!

What size downpipe is the downpipe? Is it a 3 inch downpipe? It looks like a stainless downpipe. Nice downpipe.

Would rather get the Ford warranty-approved powerpack from Ford Performance. Similar gains. The only thing I would get from Cobb is their intercooler. And keep the stock exhaust LOL I don't want people to wonder which JDM is coming around the corner when I come cruisin' by LOL

The only downside to these baby’s are the exhaust sound. But other then that I’m impressed, I would like to see an EcoBoost with intake exhaust and tune vs the new 50k Supra with 335hp

I drove a stock ecoboost mustang for the first time a couple months ago, I was super impressed. Definitely would buy if I had the money.
