The Best Affordable GMT | Seiko 5 Sports SSK001 | Review

The only way to compare my entire experience with the Seiko SSK001 GMT is that it’s like catching up with an old friend. Sure, we’ll always have the same good ol’ memories in common, but there’s always something new to chat about. The SSK case brings back those fond memories of the SKX diver. The top of the case, from lug to lug, is entirely brushed and at the crown, the case body extends into a set of crown guards. Like the SKX, the crown guards slope downwards at a sharp angle, exposing the top half of the crown for easy access and management. The case sides however, are polished and bow out ever so slightly past the bezel, as if the watch itself was flexing and showing off its utilitarian muscle.

I've had both the SKX and the SSK and the jump up in quality is noticeable. The bracelet feels like an aftermarket from strapcode, which is a good thing.

There’s a few things they can do to make this watch perfect. Sapphire crystal. Bidirectional click bezel. Signed screw down crown. 200m rating. Milled clasp.

i just love the Jubilee bracelet style of this watch, so well fit with the watch.

You gotta love Seiko!!! I am interested in micro brands but Seikos history and the fact that they are all in house, makes them a better value. Seiko should have jubilee options for more of their pieces.
I recently purchased a sumo padi, I put it on a jubilee from strapcode and it added so much presence. Pre-owned mint condution, for 325$ . 6r movement, sapphire and finishing that rivals watches worth thousands more.

I want it. Funny how people hated the 5kx cus of the water resistance. Swap the bezel and add a hand and all of a sudden everyone says it's an amazing watch.

Fit very well on your wrist. I don't know why on my 6.5 inch wrist, all 42mm watches seems bigger

45.6 lug width? You meant lug to lug, the lug width refers to the space between the lugs. Overall very nice and thorough review. Hope to see more reviews like this.
